It looks like you put a lot of work into this, and the examples are good, but the picking technique is, I'm sorry, painful.

The most important thing I did, I believe, is something that, so far, I haven't heard anyone really mention in lessons. I developed and then learned to control a bounce in my picking. It was not intentional, at first I just gave up on my wrist and began to pick strictly from my elbow. If you think you can get precise with this I would say go ahead, because your elbow is probably already a whole lot faster than your thumb joint and especially your wrist. Just be aware that you might injure yourself, and then everyone would laugh.

This is NOT good advice.

Anybody willing to help me with chords? I'm having a hard time finding anyone who seems to be willing to share. I can read tabs fairly well, it just takes me a long time. I have had an acoustic guitar for about a year now and am just now actually trying to focus and learn something new . There was a song that a friend of mine played at a cast party, which I thought was really sweet, and I have found the music to on this site...only problem is that I don't know how to read, let alone play, chords. The song is called "A better Version of You" and is by Paul and Storm." If you or anyone who reads this could help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks ahead of time .

I'm really not sure about your technique, but this is the only tab of Eugene's Trick bag that looks like what he actually plays in the movie. And, to eric2010, click on 'show chord diagrams' under the song name to see tabs of the chords. The horizontal lines are the strings, with the highest line being the high-pitched e-string, and the vertical bars are the fret wires, with the bars farthest to the left being the low frets.

I understand how to read tabs but I was unaware of the chord to tab button. I think that should actually help me quite a bit. Thank you. If I have any other questions, I'll let you know.

Seriously? I was picking with my elbow since the very beginning of my guitar playing. After switching to WRIST I doubled my speed. Elbow should be used only to move across the strings. You're not gonna be precise at tremolo picking while using an elbow to pull strings, for example.

Is it just me or at the start of the lesson it almost sounded like pokémon? like he trains different picks . like pokémon and then HM (hidden machine) came up (I know it's a guitar but still). Maybe I'm just making a really abstract connection but maybe not.
